About club

Leadgate Boxing Academy was established in 2024 by our head coach Jamie Welsh and affiliated by England Boxing in 2025. We started out in our local community center with a couple of sessions a week.

 

After a short time we gained a lot of members old and young and out grew the community center. This gave us incentive to move into our new home and have a good go at it upstairs in the eden miners center at the heart of leadgate, consett where we have been ever since.

 

We are a community focused boxing academy that is blessed with passionate coaches who believe that boxing can be used to reach all members of the community, from the streets to schools and we truly believe that boxing has the ability to change peoples lives for the better. We fly every nations flag in our gym. No matter your religion, colour, race, background or ability, we belive boxing is about unity. We are all one here.
